The Club’s league fixtures kicked off on the 22nd April 2026 with our two Works League teams taking on two Moorgate teams.  Both our teams lost by 3-1, the A team to Moorgate A away on the Rotherham club’s newly surfaced courts, and the B team to Moorgate D at Ridgeway.

On the 25th April the S & D Div 5 fixtures kicked off and the team had a great 7-2 win away at Welbeck A and followed this up by beating a highly rated Graves B team at Ridgeway by 6-3 on the 2nd May.  These are two great results after promotion from Div 6 last year.  Good stuff team!

Team players are reminded that match fees will be collected from the players at the end of the season rather than by being paid on the day of the match.

Use of tennis courts by Active Summer Camps – Easter school holiday

All members, especially our new members.

Just to let you know that during the school holidays from 1st April and 2nd April and 7th -10th April there may be Active Summer Camp activities using the Sports and Social Club outdoor facilities, including the tennis courts.   It runs from 8.00 until 5.00 pm each day. This WILL NOT prevent members from playing during the day.

They will not be using the courts all the time.

If you arrive and there are children on the courts let the Supervisor(s) know and they will move the children to ensure members can play. They will not affect the Ladies Friday afternoon social sessions either.  Any problems let Mick Mason know on 07891096164.

The Active Summer Camp activities tie in with the aims and objectives of the Sports and Social Club and some members and their young children fhave joined the club as a result of attending the camps.

Floodlights, pavilion and electrical issues

The Sports Club has to do a full re-wire of the Memorial Hall electrics.  Unfortunately this means the floodlights and electrics  to our’s and the bowls club’s pavilions is going to be unavailable until further notice.  Thankfully the nights are lighter now and it will continue to stay light longer. The Sports Club committee have already got a plan to address the issues but it won’t be a quick fix.  National Gid are going to attend to do work on the 16th April so no connection work can take place before then.

Updates will be posted on this site.
