NHS Test and Trace system introduced as from 21st July.

As a result of the LTA’s guidelines the club, as a Registered venue, has to introduce an NHS Test and Trace system. This is not optional.  Other guidance on safety and hygiene remain in force.

This Test and Trace system will come into effect as from Tuesday 21st July 2020.  This requires two things from every club member.

1.    PRE-ATTENDANCE SYMPTOM CHECK

Anyone attending a venue (including players, coaches, staff and any other visitors), should undergo a pre-attendance self-assessment for any COVID-19 symptoms using the information on the NHS website before leaving home.  No-one should leave home to participate in tennis if they, or someone they live with, has symptoms of COVID -19, currently recognised as any of the following:-

·        A high temperature,

·        A new, continuous cough,

·        A loss of, or change to, their sense of smell or taste

Should an individual have demonstrated any such symptoms, they must follow NHS and PHE guidance on self-isolation.

2.  NHS TEST & TRACE

To support NHS Test and Trace, venues have to keep a temporary record of all those on site for 21 days, in a way that is manageable, and assist NHS Test and Trace with requests for that data if needed.

Therefore, as from Tuesday 21st July 2020 members must inform Sandra Bennett (sandrabennett100@yahoo.co.uk or by text on 07870 768895) each time they play, the day that they played, who they played with and the arrival time.

The committee has decided that for the immediate future there should be no guest players at the club.  This will simplify our collection of information to just that of members only.
