Active Summer Camp at Ridgeway – from 25th July

An Active Summer Camp is going to held on the Sports Club grounds again as from the 25th July until 31st August.  This event has been held previously but like everything else did not run during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.  As part of their activities they will have access to the tennis courts but this should not interfere with members.

The camp will run from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  Last time they used the top court and sometimes the middle one but not all the time.  This didn’t interfere with members and the Camp players will move off if required.  The Active Summer camp is an OFSTED approved event and all helpers have met all the relevant safeguarding standards and have had DBS checks.  The organiser is aware that members may come and go during the day and is aware of the Ladies session on Friday afternoon.

This camp brings in substantial revenue for the Sports Club and we may attract new members as a result of it.   It also fits in with the main objective of the Sports Club which is the provision of recreational and educational activities for all sections of the community.  It also ensures the facilities generally are used during the realatively quiet school holiday period.
