The men’s team were defeated yesterday by Abbeydale B at Ridgeway, the match being played in the mroning to avoid the heat of the afternoon.
John Firth partnered Cliff Andrews and they wre beaten by the first Abbeydale couple by 5-7, 0-6 before being beaten by the seconds by 6-7, 2-6. Meanwhile Danny Lidster and Ben Kay lost to the seconds by 3-6, 2-6 and then to the firsts by 6-7, 5-7.
